Meet the Winemaker | Maison Sichel Bordeaux | Thursday 6th November 2025 | DUBLIN
On Thursday November 6th, WineOnline.ie will have the pleasure to welcome Max Sichel of Maison Sichel in Bordeaux to Dublin. Max is one of the 7th generation of the famous Sichel wine family in Bordeaux. He grew up in Chateau d’Angludet in Margaux. It was his family home, and today the family still own Chateau d’Angludet as well as Chateau Palmer, also in Margaux.
Set up in 1883 as a wine acquisitions office originally, the family bought and sold wines in the traditional negociant way. They became a fully fledged wine trading company before eventually becoming involved in wine production through the ownership of some famous estates in the region. The Sichel family are unique in that they represent other wineries from Bordeaux on the international stage, while being responsible for producing some of the best wines the left bank has to offer themselves as a family. Max’s cousin Daisy is the estate manager of Chateau d’Angludet while he and his brother are involved in all aspects of winemaking and sales for the company’s many wines.
Max will welcome you with a glass of Champagne on arrival, followed by some of the wines from his family’s estate and those from their esteemed partners in Bordeaux. WineOnline.ie import all of these wines directly, having worked with the Sichel family for all of the 25 years since they have been in business, since 1999. On the evening, Max intends to open some very special bottles to indulge you in a rare evening which will include but not be limited to the following wines:
Jean Pol Haut Bois Grower Champagne
