Description:
In the vineyards, C.V.N.E have smaller plots specifically reserved for their Gran Reserva, at higher altitudes between 500 and 650 metres to gain full ripeness and retain freshness. It's made up of 95% Tempranillo and 5% Graciano. All Viña Real wines are made from grapes grown in the Rioja Alavesa sub region. This is a farming area where farming is almost exclusively dedicated to growing grapes. And it has been this way for generations. The Gran Reserva grapes are sourced exclusively from Viña Real's own vineyards in Laguardia and Labastida.
Once the grapes are harvested, they ferment in stainless steel vats and then macerate with the skins for about 15 days. The malolactic fermentation is in French and American oak barrels with periodic manual decanting. The aging lasts for 24 months in the same barrels. Clarification with natural egg white. The wine stands in the bottle for a minimum of 36 months.

Viña Real Gran Reserva 2014 is a mature, complex and elegant red wine. An excellent vintage that displays the most refined style of Rioja Alavesa with character. A perfect blend of aromas of ripe red fruit with the notes of aging, roasted elements, tobacco and toffee. On the palate it is refined, with a harmonious mouthfeel and a very lingering finish
